The Merit Badge Program

In 1911, Boy Scouts were able to earn as many as 57 merit badges. Today, that number has grown to more than 100, with new badges regularly being added in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.

Merit Badge Clinics

  • Three Harbors Council offers several merit badge clinics to its Scouts
  • Walk-ins are not allowed. (This is to ensure that all Scouts have the necessary materials and receive the best clinic instruction possible).
  • All merit badge clinics are $6.00 per Scout.
  • All clinics require pre-registration
  • Registration for clinics offered in fall will be available September 1 until all spots are filled.
  • Registration for clinics offered in spring will be available January 1 until all spots are filled.

American Labor

Here's an opportunity for Boy Scouts to earn the American Labor Merit Badge.

Coin Collecting

Have your Scouts find out about this interesting lifetime hobby. There are several requirements that need to be completed prior to the clinic. This clinic is conducted by the Milwaukee Numismatic Society.

Dog Care

Join the Wisconsin Humane Society to work on the requirements needed to earn your Dog Care Merit Badge and have a howlin’ good time in the process! The Boy Scouts of America and the Wisconsin Humane Society have teamed up to offer this fun and informative clinic. This clinic will take place at the Wisconsin Humane Society, Learning Center.


Clinic is run in partnership with We Energies to help Boy Scouts earn their Electricity Merit Badge.  This clinic will be primarily on testing completed requirements. Scouts must bring completed projects to the clinic for testing and be prepared for a paper test.
The clinic will take place at We Energies.

First Aid

This half-day program will test a Scout's knowledge on the First Aid Merit Badge requirements.  Clinic will take place at the Milwaukee Scout Service Center, 330 South 84th Street, Milwaukee, WI. Note: This clinic is not for newer Scouts.

Fire Safety

The clinic will consist of a lecture followed by breakout groups for a hands-on experience.  This clinic is being taught by Firefighters.


This merit badge is not for brand new Scouts. The clinic will fulfill all requirements for the Law Badge. Several notable speakers from the legal community and law enforcement community will present portions of the clinic, including a moot court demonstration. This will take place at the Milwaukee Bar Association. 


Allows Scouts to learn about the roles, responsibilities,
and educational requirements of various health care
professionals. Scouts will have the opportunity to tour
the clinic, learn about physical exam tools and
techniques from resident doctors, and prepare a
healthy lunch in our demonstration kitchen. Clinic is run by Ascension & Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. 

Motor Boating

Must have Boating Safety DNR license to receive merit badge. (The DNR Safe Boating class is not included in this merit badge class. Space is limited so please register early!


Earn the Railroading Merit Badge and learn about the operations of real railroading!  Clinic runs 8:00 a.m. - Noon.

Small Boat Sailing

This program is offered to allow each participant to learn how to sail with classroom and on the water training at the William Russell Sea Base. No prior sailing experience is required.

Snow Sports

Scouts will work on down hill skiing and snowbaording in this clinic. This merit badge will take place at the Scout Service Center, 330 South 84th Street, Milwaukee, WI.
